Commenting on Which? reports which found that passengers in the South East are the least satisfied with their service, Labour’s London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, Val Shawcross AM said:
“It’s hardly surprising that rail passengers in the South East are cheesed off about the service they are getting, particularly on the disrupted routes running into London Bridge. We’ve seen significant delays, massive overcrowding and a dismissive and unhelpful attitude towards passengers on issues like compensation.
“The announcement that TfL will take over running more suburban services into the capital shows that even the Government now recognise the benefits from public management of the rail network, particularly in the capital. The Government now needs to be do everything it can to make sure this process is completed as quickly and smoothly as possible.
“Nobody wants to see yet further delay before London train services are finally bought in-house and up to standard.”
