"Mayor should focus on tackling violent crime rises, not gloating about cherry picked statistics" - Len Duvall AM

Commenting on the Mayor of London’s announcement that some neighbourhood crimes have been reduced by 20% Leader of the London Assembly Labour Group Len Duvall AM said:

“Whilst it’s of course welcome that some neighbourhood crimes have fallen, it doesn’t make up for the fact the most serious violent crimes have risen 27% in the last year. As a result overall crime has gone up in almost half of London’s boroughs over the last 12 months.

“The Mayor should be focused on tackling these worrying violent crime rises, not gloating about cherry picked statistics.”
