Len Duvall OBE AM


Len Duvall is Leader of the Labour Group on the London Assembly, and is Chair of the GLA Oversight Committee.

Before becoming a politician, Len worked in local government and the voluntary sector. His special policy interest is economic development and regeneration. His career includes stints as:

1990 – 2001 Member of Greenwich Council
1990 – 1992 Deputy Leader of Greenwich Council
1992 – 2000 Leader of Greenwich Council
Former Deputy Chair of the Association of London Government
Former member of the London Fire Authority.
Former Vice-Chair of the Local Government Information Unit
Founder member of the New Local Government Network.
Founder member and Chair of Thames Gateway London Partnership
Former Chair of the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government
Former Non–executive Director of Millennium Experience Ltd
Former member of the Council of Europe and Chamber of the Regions
1998 – 2005 Chair of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum
In 1998 he was awarded an OBE for his contribution to London Local Government.
