Mayor's new housing zones must be "truly affordable, not full of yet more luxury flats which are out of reach of ordinary people" - Tom Copley AM

Responding to the Mayor of London’s announcement of four new housing zones, Labour’s London Assembly Housing Spokesperson Tom Copley AM said:

“These new housing zones have great potential to help increase the supply of affordable homes the capital needs. After years of lacklustre efforts from Boris Johnson and a growing housing crisis it’s good to see the Mayor has finally woken up to the need for new homes, even if he is seven years late.

“As with any scheme like this the devil will be in the detail.  Londoners will want reassurance that the homes built in these new zones will be truly affordable, not full of yet more luxury flats which are out of reach of ordinary people.”
